EXTRUDED FIN TUBE
Enerfin extruded fin tubes are formed in a cold rotary extrusion process, where continuous helical fins tube are radially extruded from a thick aluminium muff over a liner fin tube. The process of extrusion hardens the fins and prevents dissimilar metal contacts at the fin root. Compared to other products, fins do not break, unwind or become loose which affects greatly thermal efficiency.
Enerfin can supply extruded fin tubes with or without liner in a variety of material. The extruded fin tube is formed from an outer aluminum tube with a large wall thickness (muff), which is aligned over an inner base tube.

To properly support and convey the extruded finned tube, the machine has been equipped with quick-change steady-rest type roller conveyors. The extruded fin tube is very robust and resistant to mechanical damage, allowing the fins to be easily cleaned with steam or water.
The extruded fin tube is formed from an outer aluminum tube with a large wall thickness, which is aligned over an inner base tube. This is an integrated and extruded fin tube which is fabricated by extruding fins from the aluminum bloom covered over the base tube.
For special applications, the extruded fins tubes are made of a special alloy aluminium containing magnesium and silicum which gives to the extruded fin tube a sufficient rigidity and strength for maintenance activities. In some cases the extruded fin tube can be serrated in order to increase the overall heat transfer coefficient and to reduce the investment cost. This means that the extruded fin tubing is made from one piece of extruded copper tube.
The extruded fins are rectangular plates, with a matrix of die-extruded tube collars. A sheet metal casing provides rigidity to the extruded fin-tube assembly prior to tube expansion. Random sample of bimetallic extruded fin tube is tested to ensure lower thermal contact resistance between fin and liner tube. A proprietary line of extruded fin tube heat sinks and clips for power semiconductors used in power supplies.
Typically, an air-cooled exchanger for process use consists of a finned-tube bundle with rectangular box headers on both ends of the tubes. extruded fin tube are often used in coastal locations or on offshore platforms for this reason. High extruded fin tubes are radial, circular fins which may be tension wrapped, extruded from a bimetallic liner or embedded into the wall of the extruded fin tube.
The original idea of adding a spreader strip to the 4.00" tube, while sound in theory, proved more troublesome than it was worth, because the extruded fin tube wanted more than anything to spiral closed, so I decided to take the larger VT-450, remove a strip, and let the tube settle down to a smaller diameter. Further, the return extruded fintube has a flat portion, forming a D-shaped cross section, to facilitate brazing of the return tube to the fin-tube assembly.
An aluminum extruded fin tube for use in an automotive heat exchanger having excellent brazing characteristics. At least one of the flat surfaces of said aluminum extruded fin tue multi-cavity flat tube is coated with a flux composition comprising a brazing flux and a synthetic resin based, as its main constituent, on a methacrylate homopolymer or a methacrylate copolymer or, alternatively, with a brazing composition comprising a brazing flux, brazing metals, and said synthetic resin.
I can't tell you how many cores we've examined that look cool on the outside but the inside is a simple extruded fin tube. Heat pipes have been employed by companies like Enerfin-inc for many years to cool high end microprocessors in areas where extruded fin tube heatsinks were not sufficient.
This means that the extruded fin tube is made from one piece of extruded fin tube. Since the fins are integral to the tube, maximum heat transfer is attained. Some say it’s also a waste of time to flush newer serpentine condensers that have the extremely small extruded fin tubes. Usually, they are an extruded fin tube with exterior fins with the electronics inside, and metal end caps to close off the extruded tube. Home |
